A-P girls track and field win home co-ed

PARKERSBURG – The Aplington-Parkersburg girls track and field team won the team title at the Falcon Co-Ed Relays at A-P High School last Tuesday, April 26.

The Falcons scored 150 points. Marshalltown was second with 130 points, AGWSR third with 111 points.

Olyvia Bellows won the 100 hurdles and the high jump and was also the anchor of the winning shuttle hurdle relay team and ran a leg of the winning 4x400 relay.

Lia Hovenga won the 1,500 and Quinnlyn Schultz won the 400 hurdles.

The A-P boys finished second to Grundy Center in Tuesday’s meet.

The Spartans scored 192 points, followed by the Falcons with 141 and Union with 105.

Jayden Mackie won the 110 hurdles in a 1-2 Falcon finish with Kaden Huttinger second. Huttinger was also the winner in the 400 hurdles. Joe Johnson won the discus and Carson Troyna was victorious in the shot put. Mackie and Huttinger also ran legs of the winning shuttle hurdle team.
