Roy Buss

Roy Edward Buss, 73, of New Hartford, died Monday, February 7, 2022, at MercyOne-Sartori in Waterloo.

Roy was born December 7, 1948, the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Seago) Buss. He graduated from New Hartford Community School in 1967. After just two weeks of dating Marilyn Adelmund, he asked her father for her hand in marriage. Following a year and a half engagement the couple was married on December 12, 1969. They had a very blessed marriage, no children, but felt like they had a hundred because of the close bonds they have made with friends and family over the years. Roy was employed by Viking Pump for 38 years, retiring in 2006.  

Roy loved to work in his garage, fish, and ride motorcycle. He loved teaching his nieces and nephews how to fix and do things.  

Roy is survived by his wife, Marilyn Buss of New Hartford, three brothers; David Buss of Daytona, FL, Mark (Roberta) Buss of Maple Lake, MN and Paul Buss of Cedar Falls, two sisters; Linda Schuck of Arkadelphia, AR and Karis Collins and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Terry and Wayne Buss.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Shell Rock and an hour before the service on Monday. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Shell Rock with burial to follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in New Hartford.
