Sheila Orta

Sheila Lynn Orta, age 62, was born the daughter of Gladys (Thompson) Carr on March 17, 1959, Sacramento, California.  She continued her education at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento where she received her Medical Assistant Degree.
In November 1981, Sheila was united in marriage with Albert Orta in
Hillsboro, Oregon.  The couple made their home in Sacramento for a short time until they moved to Elk Grove, California.  Sheila’s favorite job was working at the Folsom State Prison as a Medical Assistant in Folsom, California. When Albert retired in 2017, they moved to their present home in Parkersburg, Iowa to be near family.
Sheila had a passion for cooking and wowed friends and family with her ability to master any culinary style she chose. She loved to entertain, and her sense of humor and spark made her the life of the party. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved dogs she had throughout the years. Her greatest joy, though, was her family, children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones.
Sheila passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021, at her home in Parkersburg, Iowa of natural causes.  She was preceded in death by her mother, and two sisters, Cindy Carr and Patricia Stanley.
Sheila is survived by her husband Albert of 34 years; three children, Morgan Garrett of Elk Grove, CA, Ryan (Hannah Carlsen) Orta of Parkersburg, and Steven Orta of Mason City,
