Two team titles for A-P track

PARKERSBURG – Aplington-Parkersburg track and field claimed the girls and boys team titles at the Falcon Coed Relays on Tuesday, April 27 at A-P High School.

The girls beat out AGWSR for the top spot by a 176-130 margin. Nashua Plainfield was third with 103 points.

The boys nearly doubled up Forest City in the team standings, 175-93. AGWSR was third with 88 points.

Individual girls earning gold included Sommer Stotler in the 200 (26.72), Olyvia Bellows in the 100 hurdles (17.48), Ashley Schipper in the 3,000 (12:38.57) and Lily Hovenga in the long jump (14-4.5).

The Falcon girls won four relays: Ellen Waller, Halle Buseman, Kasidy Mohwinkle and Stotler in the 4x200 (1:55.29); Stotler, Waller, Lexi Aswegen and Maci Freund in the 4x400 (4:14.30); Stotler, Lily Hovenga, Aswegen and Freund in the 4x800 (10:25.08); Waller, Shayla Barrett, Bellows and Seyann Luhring in the shuttle hurdle (1:11.72).

On the boys’ side, Jake Wolff won the 800 (2:08.71), Kaden Huttinger won the 400 hurdles (57.36), Joe Johnson won the discus (124-2) and Jayden Mackie won the high jump (6-2). A-P scored twice in the team standings in eight different individual events.

A-P won four relays: Gavin Thomas, Sam Livingood, Devin Bernard and Jake Wolff in the 4x800 (9:13.63); Huttinger, Aidan Junker, Gavin Stroh and Jayden Mackie in the shuttle hurdle (1:06.16); Gavin Madsen, Jack Eddy, Adam Schipper and Joe Johnson in the distance medley (3:55.66) and Joe Johnson, Schipper, Thomas and Nick Johnson in the 4x400 (3:36.14).
