The 2020 Butler County Fair will look a little different this year.

After last month's announcement that the grandstand events and carnival would be canceled, the Butler County Fair Association announced a new schedule for various 4-H, FFA and royalty events next week.

The Butler County Queen contest will be Sunday, June 21 with the crowning on Monday evening, June 22. This year's Butler County Queen candidates are Miss Allison Kristianna Bright; Miss Aplington Emalee Price; Miss Austinville Kenzie Reynolds; Miss Bristow Madison Klingenborg; Miss Clarksville Brianna Roe; Miss Greene Nadia Treichel; and Miss Parkersburg Jillian Simon.

The static project drop off for 4-H and FFA exhibits will also be on June 22 and a non-interview style judging will take place on June 23.

Livestock shows will begin on June 23 with the Horse Show. Sheep and Meat Goat Shows will be on Wednesday, June 24, Swine and Poultry Shows on June 25 and Dairy and Beef Shows on June 26. The Rabbit Show will be Saturday, June 27, with the Pet Show rounding out the week on Sunday, June 28. All livestock shows will be single-day events with no livestock overnighting at the Fairgrounds.

Static project pickup will be the final fair event on Sunday, June 28.

None of the events will be open to the public to ensure the safety of the participants and meet local public health and ISU Extension state guidelines. Exhibitors will have a limited guest allocation per family. Only guests who have been listed by the exhibitor family will be allowed on the fair grounds. The shows will be livestreamed at butlercountyfair.org.

"The Fair Association, along with Butler County Extension, want to thank all of our fair's supporters for their continued support and understanding in coping with this year's unique circumstances, as we all work together to deliver the best possible experience to our county's youth," the fair association wrote in a Friday press release.
