COVID activity in Butler County stalls

COVID-19 activity has slowed slightly in Butler County, with minor changes in the number of new and concurrent cases over the last week.

As of Monday, January 26, a total of 1,519 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the county, increasing the county total from the week prior by 51, a small decrease from the week prior as activity slows down following the holiday bump.

Still, with 1,238 cases considered recovered by the state, there are currently 257 active cases in the county, an increase of two cases from the previous week.

Fortunately, no additional COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, keeping the county total at 24.

In Butler County, 6,085 individuals have been tested at some point during the pandemic, with a total of 21,101 tests performed on Butler County residents overall. In the last 14 days, 11.9% of individuals tested have been positive for the virus, a sharp decrease in the positivity rate from the previous week.

According to the state's new vaccine report, a total of 981 doses of vaccine have been administered to Butler County residents, with 140 residents completing the vaccination series.

In Butler County's long term care facilities, the Rehabilitation Center of Allison has just come through the other side of an outbreak. The last resident was cleared on Monday and the care center is now reporting that they are once again COVID-free.

In Clarksville, Clarksville Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is reporting that one staff or resident has been confirmed positive.
