A-P 6th-graders present “King Midas” next week
The sixth graders at Aplington-Parkersburg will perform “King Midas and the Touch of Gold” next week.
A matinee performance is open to the public at no cost on Monday, Oct. 11 at 1:30 p.m., with evening performances at 7 p.m. on Oct. 11 and Thursday, Oct. 14, all at the A-P High School Auditorium. Free-will offerings will be accepted for all performances.
Twenty-four students are participating across the cast and crew. The play is centered around the titular king’s obsession with gold that, through an ill-fated gift passed to the king by his daughter, eventually goes too far.
In addition to King Midas, played by Harrison Schultz, many interesting characters will interact with the king, including queens, a prince, court advisor, gardener, fisherman, shepardess, cook, citizens, ladies in waiting, and a unicorn.
The A-P community is asked to come out and support the young actors in their performances.
