Petersen transfers to UNI women's volleyball

Sydney Petersen, a Dike-New Hartford alum, announced she will be transferring from Texas to Northern Iowa for her final year of eligibility, joining the Panthers' women volleyball team.

Sydney Petersen, a Dike-New Hartford alum, announced last week that she will be transferring from the University of Texas to the University of Northern Iowa for her final year of athletic eligibility with the women’s volleyball team.

Petersen played in 113 matches in four years in Texas, averaging 2.62 digs per set and landing 82 ace serves as a libero for the Longhorns.

Petersen is the daughter of UNI head coach Bobbi Petersen, and the twin sister of Baylee Petersen, who plays for the Panthers.

She graduated from Texas in December of 2021 with a major in Applied Learning & Development: Youth & Community Studies.
