Jungling named UNI Student-Athlete of the Month

Sophia Jungling was one of four honored as University of Northern Iowa’s Student-Athletes of the Month for February.

Jungling, an Aplington-Parkersburg alum now competing with the UNI women’s track and field team, won the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in the women’s 800-meter run in 2:08.23, which set the new UNI freshman record in the event. She was also part of the 4x400 runner-up relay team at the event.

Jungling is the daughter of Brian Jungling and is majoring in sports business and public relations.
