Aplington-Parkersburg girls tennis wins 3 duals
Aplington-Parkersburg girls tennis defeated South Hardin 6-3 on Tuesday, April 26; swept GC/G-R 9-0 on April 27 and won an 8-1 match with Charles City on April 28.
A-P 6, SOUTH HARDIN 3: A-P won four of six singles matches to help the Falcons past the Tigers.
Jaidyn Teske beat Kaitlin Cuvelier 10-1 at No. 1 singles; Cuvelier and Lily Hovenga teamed up to win 10-6 at No. 1 doubles against Teske and Madisun Salazar.
A-P’s singles winners were Hovenga, Adria Neymeyer, Alexis Hoogestraat, and Courtnee Alberts. Neymeyer and Peyton Klooster were the other winners in doubles competition.
A-P 9, GC/G-R 0: The Falcons only dropped 10 games total on a brisk, sunny Wednesday in Aplington.
Kaitlin Cuvelier won 8-3 at No. 1 singles and Cuvelier and Lily Hovenga blanked the opposition at No. 1 doubles, 8-0.
Hovenga, Adria Neymeyer, Libby Janssen, Alexis Hoogestraat and Peyton Klooster were singles winners; Courtnee Alberts/Ellie Etjen and Adria Neymeyer/Peyton Klooster were the other doubles winners.
A-P 8, CHARLES CITY 1: The Comets mustered one singles victory in a match otherwise dominated by the Falcons on Thursday.
Kaitlin Cuvelier won 8-6 at No. 1 singles; Cuvelier and Lily Hovenga won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles. Hovenga, Adria Neymeyer, Libby Janssen and Alexis Hoogestrat added singles wins; Courtnee Alberts/Ellie Etjen and Hoogestrat/Neymeyer were successful tandems.
