Sandra L. Mitchell, 80

Sandra L. Mitchell, age 80, passed away peacefully on July 1st, 2023 at Allen Hospital due to stage 4 lung cancer. She was born on September 25th, 1942 in Maine to Nathan and Ruth (Atwood) Grant. She married the love of her life, Robert A. Mitchell, on February 6th, 1965 who predeceased her in death in 2011. 

Sandra loved her family and was “Grammy” to every child she met. She loved to bake and her desserts were a highlight of every holiday meal. She also loved to garden, listen to hymns, and travel. Sandra was a longtime member of East Limington Baptist Church in Limington, ME prior to moving to Iowa. 

Sandra is survived by her brother Jim Grant and his wife Pat of Buxton, ME, her daughter Ruth Makedonski and her husband Zachary of New Hartford, IA, and her son Jason Conlogue and his wife Jennifer of Westbrook, ME. She is also survived by her grandchildren Desiree, Hailee, Dante, Jason, Zachary, and Zane, one great grandson, Colby, and a special friend Beth Diamond of Maine. All of whom she loved very much. 

There are no gatherings planned at this time, however, donations can be made to East Limington Baptist Church in Limington, ME in Sandra’s honor as the only thing more important to her than her family was her faith in God.
