I'm really excited to be sending both of our teams to State again this year! We will have 49 out of our 90 AP archers representing Aplington-Parkersburg down in Des Moines.
This High School group has been great all year, winning 5 tournaments and being led by 8 seniors helps with our consistency. I can't think of an entire AP archery team that has more archers shooting above 270 than this current year's team and that starts with our Seniors. We have 15 archers averaging above 270 this year. The HS also broke the school record for a team score (3310) this year, previous record was 3298 at State last season in 2023.
HS State Qualifiers(B=Bullseye; 3D=3D): Eli Thorne-B/3D, Rowdy Groen-B/3D, Brady Heath-B, Jordan Trueblood-B/3D, Kaci Cox-B/3D, Madison Morris-B/3D, Kolbon Hoppenworth-B/3D, Collin Koop-B, Indy Herrmann-B/3D, Kerah Stahl-B, Tessa Stroh-B, Gabe Eastman-Schipper=B, Kaden Sherman-B/3D, Wyatt Junker-B, Johnithan Ward-B, Eli Penn-B/3D, Dakoda Hennigar-B, Savannah Buss-B, Cade Drehobl-B/3D
Our Middle School team has been getting better every week. We started the season getting 3rd or 4th at tournaments and this past weekend we finished in 1st. More importantly to me is the growth than the winning, but the proof of the growth does show up on Saturdays during Tournaments. Very proud of the character and development of these young archers.
