Mohwinkle leaps her way into A-P history

DES MOINES - Long jump hasn’t always been in Kinsey Mohwinkle’s arsenal of track and field events. 

The Aplington-Parkersburg senior first took a crack at long jump in middle school, but quickly moved on to other events, including high jump and hurdles. 

“It kind of wavered off throughout the years,” Mohwinkle admitted. “Halfway through my junior year, I decided to try long jump again to get out there and have fun. This year, I knew I had a job to do, and I was going to get it done.”
