Dallas “Butch” Dove

Dallas “Butch” Don Dove, 89, of New Hartford, Iowa, passed away at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. He was born March 8, 1935, son of George and Maud (Stirling) Dove and graduated in 1953 from New Hartford High School where he was an accomplished athlete. He worked for Waterloo Corrugated Box Company. Butch also served in the U.S. Army in Germany.  He married Mary Lee Norton July 15, 1961, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Lee; a daughter, Candi Marie Dove, a grandson, Brady Dallas Dove, and siblings: Wally, Kathryn, Donna and Keith. He is survived by his children: Brent (Burnette) Dove of New Hartford, Byron (Laura) Dove of Dike, Marlas (Steve) Latwesen of New Hartford; grandchildren:  Madison Dove, Hannah (Nicholas) Giesemann, Matthew (Shelby) Dove, Ashtyn (Zach) Dietiker, Carlee Dove, Kelsey Latwesen, Sydney Latwesen and Parker Latwesen; 5 great-grandchildren: Ellory. Ruby, Brayden, Colton and Harper; a sister, Winifred Clayton; and many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Butch’s Funeral Service was held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the New Hartford Community Church with burial at Oak Hill.  Memorials may be directed to the family for disbursement to Veteran and Hospice organizations.  Services by Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home of Cedar Falls.
