Joan (Joni) Katherine (Brooks) Schuck, 81

Joan (Joni) Katherine (Brooks) Schuck, 81, of Waterloo, IA passed away peacefully Friday, April 11, 2025 at her residence.  Per her wishes, Joan was cremated. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church in Parkersburg, IA on Saturday June 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM.

Joan was born September 23, 1943 to William Edward and Hiltrude (Schultz) Brooks in Waterloo, Iowa.  Joan was a 1961 graduate of East High School.  She then became a beautician and later worked in the office at Schuck Realty. 

On June 26, 1986, Joan was united in marriage to Jack D. Schuck at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.  Through the years, Joan spent her time going on many memorable trips.  She lived life to the fullest and was always having fun.  When she wasn’t traveling, you could find her shopping, heading to the casino, or spending time with her friends and family, for whom she cherished. 

She is survived by her children, Angie (Jeff) Church of Parkersburg, Rex (Hope) Tomkins of Parkersburg, Scott (Shelly) Tomkins of Bremerton, WA; sibling Rick (Chris) Brooks of Little Mountain, SC; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Schuck; parents; siblings, Gloria E. Ray and William C. Brooks.

Memorial donations may be made in Joan’s honor to the family.
