Fire destroyed a barn full of livestock belonging to Nate Hemann on Wednesday, February 3.
According to Hemann's mother, Nancy Hemann, at about 3:00 in the afternoon a neighbor noticed that sparks were coming out of the utility pole next to the barn. The neighbor called Hemann and the fire department, but the building had already caught fire.
"When I got there, they were all in place and trying to put the fire out," said Nancy Hemann.
On Monday, June 22 at around 11:30 AM, Parkersburg Fire and Rescue responded to a report of fire on the corner of 3rd Street and Wemple Street.
Occupant Jon Jurries, of 411 Wemple Street in Parkersburg, recounted the experience, noting that it started when he heard something odd as he was beginning his day.
