The district’s hopes for victory in Friday night’s football matchup between the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons and the Jesup J-Hawks is conveyed by this year’s Homecoming theme: “Flock the Hawks.”
Accompanying the anticipation and action of Friday night’s ballgame is a full week of traditional Homecoming festivities, which marks a departure from 2020’s limited event schedule.
Thursday night will witness the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium, followed immediately by the Powder Puff game at Ed Thomas Field.
PARKERSBURG – There have been a few tweaks to some of the festivities planned for this week's Aplington-Parkersburg homecoming events. Decorations will be put up at the high school during the first part of Tuesday morning to set the mood for the week to come. However, the usual Thursday coronation ceremony at the school has been canceled due to COVID-19 and has been moved to Friday.
